
The Kodak Hawkeye De Luxe is a simple box camera made of leatherette-covered cardboard with a metal face. The Hawkeye was manufactured by Kodak Ltd. in London – the British subsidiary of Eastman Kodak It was introduced in 1936.
Never sold directly but used as promotional items in newspapers and magazines, e.g. Mickey Mouse comic paper offered this camera for six coupons cut from 6 weeks of the comic, plus sixpence.
Wire frame view guide extends from the side; no back sight. The ‘De Luxe’ version had lugs on the sides to attach a neckstrap.
