Our Shop and Heritage Centre will be closed from 1.00 pm on 24 December and will re-open at 10.00 am on 4 January.
Normal Opening Hours
Monday – Friday: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
Saturday: 10.00 am – 1.00 pm
The shop’s profits help fund our Museum, Heritage & Research Centre, which is located on the same premises (access through the shop).
On Sale
New Items include: Local History Books, BLHS publications, Wool and haberdashery, Postcards and Calendars
Quality Used Items: include Books of all kinds including popular paperbacks plus Bric-a-brac, Vinyl records, CDs and DVDs, Toys, Puzzles, Jigsaws and Games
Donations:
All suitable donations gratefully received. Donations may occasionally be restricted due to limited storage space.
Please note that electrical items can only be accepted with a current PAT test.
Our Charity Shop is entirely staffed by volunteers
If you are interested in helping out for a few hours each week, then please call in the shop to enquire – application forms are available.
Mercantile Flea shopping outlet
We also currently have a booth at the Mercantile Flea situated in the old Sainsbury building, just past the Bitterne Post Office, at 20-26 West End Road. Here we sell Bric-a-Brac, pre-owned books, etc. as well as our own publications.
Opening hours are:
Monday to Friday: 10.00 am – 5.00 pm
Saturday: 10.00 am – 5.30 pm
Sundays: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
There is free parking on the roof of the building accessed from Angel Crescent with a lift direct to the store.
