David retired from the Royal Navy in 2006 as a Warrant Officer with over 34 years service. He was awarded the MBE in 2004 in recognition of service to the Royal Navy and community charity work, particularly Guide Dogs for the Blind. On retirement he moved to the Queen’s Harbour Master staff as a Vessel Traffic Services Operator in the busy port of Portsmouth, and served for 17 years, before finally retiring in July 2022.

In this talk Dave will be describing one of the most famous sea-battles in history: The Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The story includes the lead up to the heroic battle and the death of Admiral Nelson.
