Dates back to 1812 1921. Francis Ford (Landlord) fined £1.00 for selling intoxicating liquor outside the permitted hours. Once the property of Langton’s Newport Brewery Later part of the Whitbread Group and closed in 1978.
Reopened 1984 as Free House as Charlie Brown’s named after the proprietor.
Became Humble Plumb following refit??? Reportedly after a worker was asked what the name of the pub was to become, replied “Don’t ask me I’m just a ‘Humble Plumb’ (plumber)”. Not validated.
